Why would you want to watch an old man do press ups? Good question …

In 2016 there was one of those real-life memes going about referencing stats that said there were 22 former-military personnel from the US and UK killing themselves every day. Folk, and groups of folk, often mil or ex-mil (former-mil) would do 22 press-ups for 22 days. I’m former military, I’ve come close, so … but there was a problem.

Multiple Sclerosis has diminished — killed, by metaphor — the muscles down the right side of my body. Despite being no stranger to ‘reps’ of 100+ press-ups in my youth, now I didn’t know if I could do one. I rang my mate and asked him to nominate me and I’d find out — live on Facebook.

In these vids I talk about books, depression and suicide and my Dog Zen makes appearances. He was a rubbish press-up coach.

I’ll put the other 22 days worth of vids (I called this one ‘Day 0’ so there are more than 22 in all) in here when I’ve sorted out captions / tags etc in the youtube channel
